GREATER MINDS, INC.

Founded in 2005, Greater Minds, Inc. is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, families, and communities through education, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.

For more than 20 years, Greater Minds has worked to create meaningful opportunities for individuals to overcome barriers, develop essential skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

Our work is grounded in a simple belief:

When people have access to knowledge, resources, mentorship, and opportunity, they are better equipped to create a greater future.

What We Do

Greater Minds provides educational and community-centered programs designed to address the needs of individuals and families at different stages of life.

Our signature areas of service include:

Academic Tutorials & Confidence-Building Enrichment

Providing academic support, literacy development, critical thinking, enrichment, and confidence-building opportunities that help students strengthen their skills and succeed academically.

Early Childhood Development

Supporting foundational learning and development during the critical early years, helping young learners build the skills they need for future academic success.

Texas Great Phenoms Mentor & Scholarship Program

Empowering young women, particularly those from underserved communities, through mentorship, scholarships, college readiness, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and professional development.

Building Greater Futures Community Outreach

Connecting families and communities with educational resources, health and wellness opportunities, basic needs support, family resources, and programs designed to strengthen quality of life.

Greater Minds Resident Experience

An emerging initiative designed to strengthen multifamily communities through youth programming, wellness activities, financial literacy, educational opportunities, and resident engagement.

Partnerships That Make a Difference

Greater Minds understands that sustainable community impact happens through collaboration.

We have established partnerships and working relationships with Houston ISD, Alvin ISD, Fort Bend ISD, Houston Police Department, Old Navy, Texas Southern University, Prairie View A&M University, Blinn College, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and other community organizations.

As an approved vendor with Houston ISD and Alvin ISD, Greater Minds provides educational services that extend our reach into the communities we serve.

Our partnership with Old Navy has supported young readers and literacy initiatives, while our collaboration with the Houston Police Department has helped strengthen community engagement and connect young people and families with valuable resources.

Through these partnerships, Greater Minds brings together education, business, public service, philanthropy, and community leadership to create greater opportunities.

For nearly two decades, Greater Minds has provided community services across the city of Houston, and has supported over 800 students in building confidence, achieving academically, and creating brighter futures.

Academic Tutorials & Confidence-Building Enrichment Program

Greater Minds, Inc. empowers children from low-income and underserved communities to achieve academic success, build confidence, and access long-term opportunities. Our combined Early Childhood Development & Academic Tutorials Enrichment Program delivers a seamless, developmentally appropriate continuum of support. From research-based kindergarten readiness to sustained K-12 academic support, mentorship, and confidence-building, our students are prepared for school and placed on a pathway to college, career, and community leadership.

Building Greater Futures: Community Outreach

Greater Minds, Inc.’s Building Greater Futures Program is committed to empowering low‑income families in the Houston area to build strong, resilient households and brighter futures. By offering targeted community events, family engagement activities, and evidence‑based supports, we aim to strengthen family stability, enhance social capital, and elevate opportunity across 800 families today.

The Greater Residential Experience

Greater Minds, Inc. is committed to enhancing the quality of life within apartment communities by providing structured, engaging, and impactful Resident Supportive Services. We understand the importance of providing consistent, meaningful services within apartment communities, and our goal is to make that process seamless while helping your property stand out through increased engagement and resident retention to maintain and increase occupancy.
