The Texas Great Phenoms Mentor & Scholarship Program is a signature initiative of Greater Minds, Inc. created to empower young people—particularly young women from underserved communities—with the tools, resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to succeed.
Founded on the belief that talent exists in every community, Texas Great Phenoms works to help young women see beyond their current circumstances and prepare for the possibilities ahead. Through mentorship, leadership development, entrepreneurship, college readiness, professional development, and scholarships, the program helps participants build both the confidence and capacity to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Texas Great Phenoms is led by Alfredia Lee, M.Ed., Founder & CEO of Greater Minds, Inc., alongside Texas Great Phenoms Ambassadors Karrington Lee and Kennedy Lee, who help champion the program's mission and inspire the next generation.
Together, we believe that when young people are given access, advocacy, mentorship, and opportunity, they can do more than overcome barriers—they can become the leaders who change what is possible for those who come after them.

Scholarship Impact
Texas Great Phenoms is committed to helping make higher education more accessible and attainable.
To date, the program has awarded 11 scholarships totaling $49,500, providing financial support to students pursuing their educational goals.
Scholarship recipients are recognized not only for academic achievement, but also for their leadership, entrepreneurial promise, character, and potential to make an impact in their communities.
Among those honored through Texas Great Phenoms are accomplished young entrepreneurs and leaders whose stories demonstrate what is possible when talent is supported with opportunity.
Building Leaders Through Mentorship
Scholarships are only one part of the Texas Great Phenoms experience.
The program has launched its first mentorship cohort, connecting students with mentors and leaders who can provide guidance, encouragement, professional insight, and real-world exposure.
Our mentorship framework introduces emerging leaders to opportunities across business, STEM, public service, entrepreneurship, and other professional fields, helping participants develop the skills and mindset necessary to navigate college, careers, and leadership.

CEO/ CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Alfredia Lee
Known as “The Great Coach,” Alfredia D. Lee is an accomplished educator, author, counselor, and visionary leader with more than 20 years of experience empowering youth, families, and communities. As Founder and CEO of Greater Minds, Inc., she leads with a passion for education, personal development, and creating opportunities that produce lasting impact. Under her leadership, Greater Minds, Inc. received national recognition from the MOTIF Awards Board of Trustees for its outstanding child advocacy and educational initiatives.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
LaKeith D. Lee, Sr.
LaKeith D. Lee Sr. is a distinguished leader, community advocate, and Chief Financial Officer of Greater Minds, Inc. He provides strategic oversight of the organization’s financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation, helping ensure long-term sustainability and maximize community impact. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and service. Lee is also a recipient of the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and has been recognized among the Top 50 Black Professionals & Entrepreneurs of Texas.

Dr. Brian Gibson
Dr. Brian Gibson is an accomplished educational leader and strategist with more than 17 years of K-12 leadership experience and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. As Marketing Director, he strengthens the organization’s visibility and impact through strategic planning, branding, communication, and community outreach. A recognized National Distinguished Principal Finalist and Principal of the Year Finalist, Dr. Gibson brings a commitment to educational excellence, leadership development, and advancing the mission of Greater Minds, Inc.

LJ. Woodard, Jr.
LJ Woodard is a global strategist, change-maker, and founder of Motif Worldwide, specializing in brand strategy, reputation management, and high-impact partnerships. His leadership has advanced initiatives in education, cultural preservation, social justice, and humanitarian advocacy. His signature work includes the Motif Awards, Joe Sample Soundstage, and The International Festival of the United States of America, reflecting his commitment to creating meaningful cultural and community impact.

Kim Roxie is an award-winning entrepreneur and founder of LAMIK Beauty, an eco-conscious beauty brand created to celebrate multicultural women and inspire confidence through natural beauty. Since launching the company at age 21, she has grown LAMIK Beauty into a nationally recognized brand, earning features from BET and recognition from Ebony Magazine as a Black Beauty Maven to Know. Her entrepreneurial journey and commitment to empowering women bring valuable insight and inspiration to Texas Great Phenoms.

Lori Lee
Lori Lee is an accomplished human resources executive and educator with expertise in organizational development, employee engagement, culture enhancement, and strategic HR leadership. With experience leading HR operations for large, multi-location healthcare organizations, she brings valuable insight into aligning people, processes, and organizational goals. Lori also serves as an Adjunct Business Faculty member at the University of Houston-Downtown, where she teaches Strategic Human Resource Management and Organizational Development.

Kennedy Lee
Kennedy Lee is a Texas Great Phenoms Ambassador and student at Texas Southern University. As a young woman committed to academic achievement, leadership, and personal growth, Kennedy represents the spirit of the Phenoms—confidence, purpose, and excellence. Through her role as an Ambassador, she inspires other young women to discover their greatness, develop their voice, and boldly pursue their future.
